The Arica y Parinacota Region was officially created on October 8, 2007, following the implementation of Chile’s regionalization law, which aimed to decentralize the country’s administration and promote regional development.
The Arica y Parinacota Region flag is a white background with the coat of arms of the Arica y Parinacota region in the centre and the region’s name under the coat of arms.
