Pine Bluff is the largest city and seat of Jefferson County and the capital city of Arkansas.

Founded in 1839, Pine Bluff lies close to the Arkansas River, on the boundary of two of Arkansas’s geographical regions; To its west and southwest extend the undulating woodlands of the West Gulf Coastal Plain, while to the east and southeast, the landscape transitions into the flat, predominantly agricultural expanse of the Delta region.
