What is the most visited place in Nebraska?

Nebraska has a lot of unique places to see, but which one is the most popular? There’s no doubt that some people might think the answer to this question is the Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha. The zoo is a nationally acclaimed attraction, with several exhibits you can’t find anywhere else. With more than four million tourists each year, the zoo has plenty of visitors. But another place in Nebraska gets more than twice as many visitors as the zoo every year. That place is Carhenge.

According to a recent study, Nebraska’s most visited location is not a city or even an attraction—it’s a sculpture park called “Stonehenge Alliance.” People travel worldwide to visit this sculpture park, which consists of hundreds of cars arranged into stone formations.

The reason for this popularity? The sculptor who created Stonehenge Alliance was inspired by his father, who died in 1968 while serving on a Navy ship during the Vietnam War. In an interview with NPR, the creator said that he wanted people looking at these cars to think about what they could become if they worked together instead of against each other.

With more than four million tourists each year, it’s one of Nebraska’s most popular attractions—and one of the most popular zoos in the country. It also happens to be a nationally acclaimed attraction, with several exhibits you can’t find anywhere else. For example, It’s home to one of just eight polar bear habitats in North America; it features an African exhibit that contains giraffes and elephants, and it boasts North America’s largest indoor rainforest habitat!

The zoo is the fourth most visited zoo in the US and has over 1,400 animals on display. In addition to its variety of species housed there are several unique exhibits that highlight different ecosystems and habitats such as a polar bear exhibit, butterfly house and aquarium. The Rainforest exhibit recreates an Amazonian rainforest complete with a waterfall and swimming moat visible through misty glass windows.

Carhenge

Carhenge, a replica of Stonehenge made out of cars, is located in Alliance, Nebraska. It was built by Jim Reinders in 1987 and has been open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year ever since. The site remains popular with people from all over the world who love to pose with their friends at Carhenge for photos.

The monument was inspired by an actual stone henge in England called Stonehenge, which has been around for over 5,000 years and is believed to be used for rituals and celebrations.

Carhenge consists of 38 cars (including 10 Volkswagens) placed as upright stones and set within a ring with concentric circles—and it’s open year-round!
