The Museum Geert Groote Huis is totally devoted to Deventenaar Geert Groote, lived between 1340 – 1384.He’s called the founder of the ‘Modern Devotion’. This renewal movement was a personal embodiment of faith and sincere life and a personal embodiment of faith.
The Museum offers the the interactive timeline can reveal what happened in his life and performances and walks.
To date inspire the ideas of Geert Groote. The foundation of the first chapel of the Brothers of the Common Life, located at the Lamme of Dieseplein, is why the Geert Groote Huis is built. How he came to his insight, why he criticized the church and society and why his mind is still up to date.
The museum brings modern day technology such as Virtual Reality and places you back in time to the beginning of the 16th century. Within the virtual chapel you can also marry a beautiful psalter.
