Nemo science museum

The NEMO Science Museum is the biggest museum in Amsterdam its also a science center and has been around for over 95 years, the building was designed by Renzo Piano since 1997, located in the Oosterdok, Amsterdam Centrum.

Previously the museum had a few name changes; dating back to 1954 the name was changed to ‘Nint’ or ‘Nederlands Insitituut voor Nijverheid en Techniek’ from the ‘Museum van den Arbeid’ and in 1997 it was changed to  ‘newMetropolis’ however in 2000 the ‘center Nemo’ was introduced but in 2016 the name was changed again to ‘NEMO science Museum’.

The Museum has five floors of science and technology to enjoy and get hands on experiences and enjoy different exhibitions.

April to August
Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 17:30

September to March

On all school holidays

Closed on King’s Day (27 April)
