Flag of Araucanía Region

The Araucanía Region is a region in southern Chile, known for its rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and a significant indigenous population, primarily the Mapuche people. The region’s capital is Temuco, and it is bordered by the regions of Los Ríos, Los Lagos, and Bío Bío.

The Araucanía Region was officially created on March 29, 1974, as part of a territorial division and administrative reorganization of Chile.
