Flags of SADC
The Southern African Development Community was established on the 17th of August, 1992 in Windhoek, Namibia.
The SADC is a regional intergovernmental organisation and trading block in Southern Africa, and the primary goal of SADC is to promote socio-economic cooperation and integration among its member states for the shared development of the region.
The initial signing of the SADC Treaty replaced the earlier Southern African Development Coordination Conference (SADCC).

Flag Design
The flag of SADC was officially released on the 28th of August 1995, during the SADC Summit in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, South Africa.
The flag features a dark blue background with a central green circle, within which the SADC logo is overlaid in gold.
The Blue symbolises the sky and oceans which provides water. Green Represents the region’s rich flora and Fauna, as well as agricultural importance. The Gold symbolises the mineral wealth of the region.
