Flag of Tarapacá Region
The Flag of the Tarapacá Region features a white background with the region’s coat of arms in the centre.
The shield is divided into four sections:
- The top left section depicts a blue ocean with a sailing ship, with the flag of Chile.
- The top right section depicts a yellow sky with a cactus and a Guanaco.
- The bottom left section depicts the industrial mining and the workers of the region.
- The bottom right section depicts green with palm trees, a mountain with a flag of Chile and a blue ocean.
The shield is surrounded by a palm leaf wreath, which is a symbol of the region’s history and culture.
Below the shield is a scroll with the words “Región Tarapacá – Presente y Futuro de Chile” (“Tarapacá Region – Present and Future of Chile”).
