Brief History of Rogers

The area where Rogers is located was initially inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Osage and Caddo. In the early 1800s, European-American settlers began to arrive, attracted by the fertile land and natural resources.

Rogers was officially founded in 1881 when the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway established a station in the area.

The town was named after Captain Charles Warrington Rogers, a railroad official. The railroad brought significant growth and development to the area, facilitating trade and transportation.

Throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Rogers experienced steady growth, primarily driven by agriculture, timber, and the railroad industry.

In recent decades, Rogers has experienced rapid growth and development, fueled by its proximity to the larger Northwest Arkansas metropolitan area and the presence of major corporations like Walmart and Tyson Foods.
